June 16th 2017

We're thrilled to be celebrating 50 years in business at our market this week.  The market has been trading continuously since 1967 and to celebrate this landmark, join us at 11am in the Lesser Hall for birthday cake and prosecco.  Our normal market will be on as usual from 9.30am, so do call in to stock up with goodies and to celebrate with us.  Many thanks to all of our loyal customers and here's to another 50 years!

March 2017

We're very pleased to be at the start of our trading season again after a short winter break, during which time we were busy making marmalade with new season Seville oranges, restocking our supplies and trying new recipes.

Our master bread baker, Mike has been busy developing gluten free bread recipes and is happy to take orders from customers for his gluten free bread.  We are also able to offer other gluten free baked goods to order - please enquire.

Christmas tasting day

Join us in the Lesser Hall on Friday 18th November for our tasting day.  Sample delicious treats and place your order for Christmas.  Download our order form and bring it along on the day.  Gift wrapping service also available.  

Winning bread baker!

Producer Mike Legrove is delighted to have won a Silver Award for his sourdough bread in the Tiptree World Bread Awards with Brook Foods 2016.  All of us at Cowbridge Country Market are thrilled with Mike's success and his bread is always highly sought after at our markets held on the first and third Friday of each month.

Following a career in the Army, Mike was a regional Catering Director and now enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, bell-ringing and of course being a producer for the market.  His many talents include jam making, apple juice pressing as well as a baking a variety of sourdough breads.

Recognition of his bread-baking skills is long overdue and we hope that Mike enjoys his success

Summer 2016

We will be holding a MID SUMMER CELEBRATION next Friday 17^th June, at The Lesser Hall (9.30-11.30am). Come along & buy our local vegetables, salads, fruit or cottage flowers as well as items from our new savoury & vegetarian range, plus of course strawberry jam for your summer scones and some of our delicious seasonal cakes and other bakes.

Our Christmas Order Form is now available for download.  Orders taken up to 4th December, and will be available for collection from the Lesser Hall, Cowbridge on either Friday 18th or Tuesday 22nd December (9.30-11.30am).  Please Contact us to place an order.  As you will see from the order form, we have a lot of exciting goodies available; why not make life easier and use us for all your Christmas treats?

Very honored to be invited to have a stand at the WI Annual Wales Conference at St David's Hall in Cardiff.  Our craft producers had an excellent day, and the food on sale was very well received by all.  A tiring day but well worth it!

August 2015
Another fantastic Vale Show, and very proud to be part of the Food Court which as a whole won the best Trade Stand on the Show field. The award was given in recognition of the contribution the Food Court made to the overall show.

March 2015

We are all very excited to be restarting our Markets in March.  Hopefully good weather will bring the crowds out and everyone will enjoy the start of spring!  Many of our producers have been busy during our "break" making marmalade using Seville oranges which are only in season for a short while during January.

Join us on Friday 6th March for a special Marmalade event - free tastings and lots of marmalade themed treats.

Christmas 2014

Many people downloaded our Christmas order form to have lots of homemade goodies for Christmas parties, gifts and store cupboard.  Items ready for collection on Friday 19th December (9.30-11.30am, Lesser Hall, Cowbridge).  We'll make anything you like - even if it's not listed, please just ask!

Join us on Sunday 30th November 2014 (11.00am - 5.00pm) at a special Farmer's Market held during this year's Cowbridge Reindeer Parade.  Lots of family fun, special events and wonderful food to taste and buy...

Vale of Glamorgan Show 2014

Visit us at the new Vale Farmers' Market Food Court at the Vale of Glamorgan Show, Fonmon Castle on Wednesday 13th August 2014 (all day).  Meet the producers, watch our Market Adviser wow you with a cookery demo, and have an opportunity to purchase lots of yummy cakes, preserves and other treats to eat there or take home with you.  Stop by and say "hello"!

Christmas 2013

After a very busy December fulfilling  many orders for our customers as well as cooking and making gifts for our own families, we had an excellent market on Friday 20th December. 

Vale Show 2013

Outstanding success at the Vale Show - nearly everything sold out and we saw lots of regular customers as well as many new faces.  

Success for two of our producers in the Home Produce competition: Veronica Morgan won first prize for her lemon curd, and Carol James won the Preserves Cup with a first in both marmalade, blackcurrant jam and third in fruit chutney.
